Director
DipArch Hons BSc
Adam trained at the University of Bath and brings over 25 years of professional experience to the practice.
With an enduring passion for well-considered contemporary design, his commitment stretches to even the most sensitive projects, offering bespoke, contemporary solutions that deliver quality, subtlety and elegance.
Residential architecture has become his specialty, driven by working closely with private clients on very personal, often life changing commissions. His skills in bespoke furniture design and specialist lighting are used to maximum effect, applying thoughtful and inventive attention to detail and crafting each and every part of a building through to the interiors. He believes strongly that everyone should benefit from great design, whatever the budget.

Ian trained at both Bristol and Edinburgh Universities and graduated in 1986.
He was based in Edinburgh for 18 years, working on a wide range of projects both in type and size, before moving to Bath and forming CaSA Architects with Adam Dennes. During his career he has developed a profound commitment to designing buildings in a sustainable way, believing that architecture has an important part to play in the collective stewardship of the planet. Ian aims to create buildings and places that integrate environmental sustainability with innovation and beauty; touching hearts and souls deeply whilst touching the earth lightly.
Architect
BSc MArch PgCert
Having previously worked alongside a sole practitioner, Matt has gained valuable knowledge in sustainability and designing low to zero carbon buildings. Matt joined CaSA in 2009 where he has continued to engage with the zero-carbon debate, and understanding how buildings are made, while working with our clients to get the best results possible. He was the project architect for notable CaSA projects such as Priors Dean and Junction Road.
In addition, he is the linchpin player of weekly inter-office football matches. Outside of the office he can be found with his family camping, walking, kayaking and watching films.
Joe joined CaSA in 2021 following over 10 years working for design led practices in London. He is an experienced architect with a particular interest in refurbishment projects and works to historic buildings. Joe recently qualified as a Passivhaus designer and is committed to delivering high quality sustainable design. Outside of work Joe enjoys going for walks and pottering about in his garden.
Charlotte has recently joined CaSA as Studio Manager and has been busy ever since, ensuring that everything in the practice is running smoothly. From the day-to-day managing of the office to finances and HR. Charlotte hopes to develop her role further, including becoming the self-appointed manager of CaSA social engagements.
Architect

Jessica studied at The University of Manchester and The University of Hong Kong. Having worked on projects at vastly contrasting scales; from higher education and health care architecture to intricate little extensions, Jessica brings a breadth of experience to the Practice. Jessica joined CaSA in 2015 and couples being in the CaSA office with regular tutoring for first year students at the University of Bath.
BSc March PGCert ARB RIBA
Jerram joined CaSA in August 2012 and soon after qualified as Architect. Since, he has developed in experience and technical knowledge including undertaking Passivhaus Designer training. Jerram contributes on projects at all stages but has special interest in our very low energy designs. He believes that sustainable principles add value to projects of any budget, whether seeking full Passivhaus certification or simply wanting to achieve a wonderfully comfortable home with minimal energy bills.
Outside of work Jerram is a School Governor, has two children, a house full of DIY projects, and an allotment, which is just about enough for now!
Will joined CaSA after completing his Masters in Sustainable Architecture at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth. Having previously worked as a building services engineer at Buro Happold, Will has a keen interest in building physics and natural materials and has been a regular tutor at the University of the West of England.
Outside of work Will has a vast library of boardgames which makes him a key contributor to the office board game lunches.
Adam joined CASA after completing his Masters Degree at the University of Edinburgh. He has a passion for engaging and beautiful design that has been rigorously considered at all scales. Adam has experience working on high end residential developments, new build homes and extensions.
Outside of work Adam is a keen craftsman, designing and making his own furniture pieces and ceramics.
Phillipa is a graduate of the University of West England, where she earned a Master's degree in Architecture. With experience working on high-end residential developments, she is passionate about creating sustainable architecture that blends innovation with environmental responsibility. Her work focuses on integrating sustainable design practices into modern living spaces.
Outside of architecture, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, with hobbies including baking, cooking, and creating unique condiments.
